Steak Skewers
Don't get us wrong, we absolutely love the classic way of a perfectly cooked steak on the barbie, however these steak skewers are just so much fun and sooo delicious! They throw the perfect combo of flavours on one stick and leaves everyone super happy! Colourful, delicious and filling and if you feel like it, you can of course substitute to other veg that you love, too.
Serves 2 (4 large skewers) | Prep Time 10min | Total Time 20min
INGREDIENTS
2 eye fillet steaks (approx. 300g), cut into 6 large pieces each
1 1⁄2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
2 1⁄2 tsp SPICETUB Steak Master
1 zucchini, cut into 4 thick slices
1 cup pumpkin, cut into 4 cubes
1 carrot, cut into 4 thick slices
4 button mushrooms, whole
1⁄2 red capsicum, cut into 4 thick slices
1 corn on the cob, cut into 4 thick slices
1 red onion, quartered
4 cherry tomatoes
METHOD
When preparing your ingredients, make sure that you have four pieces of each ingredient to be able to fill all 4 skewers. Place the steak pieces into a bowl and cover with 1⁄2 tbsp of olive oil and 1 1⁄2 tsp of SPICETUB Steak Master. Stir to combine and make sure that the steak pieces are fully coated in oil and spice mix.
* In a separate large bowl, toss all vegetables with the remaining 1 tbsp olive oil and 1 tsp SPICETUB Steak Master to cover and combine also. Now layer the ingredients including the steak pieces onto the skewers in your preferred order, making sure that the start & end pieces are a strong & solid ingredient e.g. zucchini, pumpkin, carrot or corn. That will prevent them from sliding off to easily when cooking.
Now cook your skewers on the barbeque for 8-10min. Depending on the thickness of your pieces, this will cook the steak medium rare to medium.
*If you don’t like your veggies cooked al dente, boil the pumpkin and carrot for 5 minutes in water before coating in oil and the spice mix.
