Maple Toasted Muesli

Maple Toasted Muesli

Serves 2 | Prep Time 5min | Total Time 22min

INGREDIENTS

1 1⁄2 cups rolled oats
1/3 cup slivered almonds
1/3 cup pecans, roughly chopped
2 tbsp SPICETUB Porridge Master
1/3 cup maple syrup
1⁄2 cup dried coconut flakes

METHOD

Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius and line a baking tray with baking paper.
In a large mixing bowl add rolled oats, almonds and pecans and mix. In a smaller separate bowl, mix the maple syrup with the SPICETUB Porridge Master well to ensure there are no lumps. This works best if the syrup is runny. Pour the syrup onto the oat & nut mixture and stir well to ensure the oat mixture is coated with the syrup mixture. Spread mixture evenly on the prepared baking tray. Place in the oven and bake for 10-12 minutes. Take out the baking tray and roughly stir coconut flakes into the muesli whilst still on the tray. Place back in the oven and bake for a further 3-5 minutes, or until golden brown. Enjoy with Greek yoghurt and fruit, or with milk of your choice.

* Depending on your oven, keep an eye on the baking process to ensure the muesli doesn’t burn.

Meet the recipe creator Sarah Grace - Nutritionist

As a nutritionist and student dietitian, I love helping people live healthier, happier lives. To me, food isn’t just about nutrients and calories. Through food, we connect with others, create experiences and lifelong memories, which is why I find so much happiness in empowering women to ditch diets and find food freedom. As I mentioned, the focus of food should be less about the calories they contain and more about the experiences, memories and joy it brings us. SPICETUB opens the opportunity to get creative in the kitchen and to experiment with a range of flavours and dishes- a big tick in my books!
