Express Focaccia

Express Focaccia

Well well well… Sarah's Day shared her own FOCACCIA express recipe and naturally we HAD to run, buy all the olive oil and gear up for some bread deliciousness and … EXCUSE ME, but when Andy says “this is better than from any bakery”, I think we’ve got a winner?!?

Of couuuurse, we have given it a little @spicetub twist with the Pizza Master and have already made this stunner a few times for friends and family. Please……., make this! Do yourself a favour and MAKE.THIS.IMMEDIATELY!

INGREDIENTS
1 1/3 cups warm water
1/2 tbsp honey
7g (1 sachet) instant dried yeast
1 tbsp olive oil
2 cups bread flour / 00 flour
Pinch salt
2 tbsp olive oil
2 tsp SPICETUB Pizza Master

METHOD

Combine water, honey and yeast, mix together and let stand for approx. 15min to activate and form bubbles. Then, add the 1 tbsp olive oil. Stir to combine before adding the flour and pinch of salt. Mix well making sure the dough is fairly wet and sloppy. Cover with cling wrap and set aside somewhere warm for 45min. Then, gently stretch and fold the dough about four times before setting it back in the warm spot with cling wrap for another 45min. Repeat this process 3-4 times in total. Combine the 2 tbsp olive oil with the spice mix in a small bowl and get ready! Gently transfer the dough into a tray or flat dish covered in baking paper and olive oil! Use your fingers to spread the dough to the edges, then drizzle the spiced olive oil onto the top and dimple in the dough with your fingers making sure the spiced oil is coating the surface and small bubbles & textures are formed. Bake in a pre heated oven on ~200C for about 15min or until golden and crunchy on the top. Check in between making sure it doesn’t burn. Always trust your own oven. Let cool completely before cutting and ENJOY!!!
